WHAT IS KRATOM
- Kratom comes from the Mitragyna Speciosa, a tropical evergreen tree in the coffee family native to Southeast Asia whose leaves have been used for centuries. Kratom has a bitter taste like extraordinarily strong coffee.
- Kratom does not contain the alkaloid caffeine, but contains other alkaloids such as Mitragynine, Paynantheine, Speciogynine and many more that We are learning about that make this plant so unique. Kratom contains no opiates, but it does bind to the same receptor sites in the brain. Chocolate, coffee, exercise, and even human breast milk hit these receptor sites in a similar fashion.
- Mitragyna Speciosa or Kratom has been used traditionally for thousands of years in southeast Asia. Kratom is a Tree with an average height of around seventy feet but can reach heights of over one hundred feet tall. The leaves are harvested, dried and ground into a powder. The powdered leaves are used to make Kratom Tea. Most people start with about two grams of dried kratom powder in a cup of warm/Hot water. Less is more with kratom and it is better to start low and slow to see what works best for you. The one way you will know if you used too much kratom is that you will get an upset stomach and nausea. That is why it is better to start with a lower amount and work your way up if necessary.
- Using a cup with Warm/Hot water is the best way to mix the kratom powder. Kratom powder makes a suspension and does not technically mix, so the Warm water allows the kratom powder to blend better. Some people cannot stand the taste of Kratom and use chocolate milk or something similar afterwards to help with the aftertaste.
- Kratom is both the whole tree Mitragyna speciosa in the coffee family Rubiaceae as well as the leaves and extracts of the leaves. The tree is native to Southeast Asia and primarily grown in Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia.
- Kratom should not be confused with its single compounds mitragynine or 7-hydroxymitragynine. These are isolated substances with a defined chemical structure that are present in kratom extracts. Fresh kratom leaves contain mitragynine although the presence of 7-hydroxymitragynine in unprocessed leave material has not been confirmed.
- 7-Hydroxymitragynine is detected in such minute amounts. Our testing procedures Do Not show the presence of 7-hyrdroxymitragynine in any of our products.
