A Day Like No Other: Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington photo exhibit is on display at the Library of Congress, Thomas Jefferson Building. The exhibit, which is open throughMarch 1 includes 40 black and white images by the daily press, independent photographers and others. Students Return to School: Both DC Public School and Georgetown University students begin classes this week. DCPS students start school Monday. GU students begin classes Wednesday, Aug. 28. Make sure you take extra precautions in school zones and around campus.

All Baby Panda, All the Time: The Smithsonian National Zoo's female giant panda Mei Xiang gave birth Friday evening to a healthy cub. Though the panda house will be closed for several weeks, you can watch the little bundle of joy and its mom in the panda cam any time of day.

Once every summer the Mansion on O Street flings open its doors to offer a sale of goods donated by its members, friends and neighbors for you to browse or buy.  You must bring your own bag to cart away any treasures you might find. The sale runs from Tuesday through Sept. 8 at the mansion, 2020 O St., NW in Washington, DC.  10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
