DC Residents React To Wawa Moving To Georgetown

DC residents have mixed messages on the "restaurant-style" Wawa coming to Georgetown. What do you think?

GEORGETOWN, DC — The beloved East Coast convenience store chain Wawa is coming to the corner of Prospect and Wisconsin in Georgetown, according to the local neighborhood blog Georgetown Metropolitan.

Patch reported in March that Wawa was making a move to DC, and Georgetown Metropolitan has confirmed the store is set to take over the space currently occupied by the Restoration Hardware.

The Georgetown Wawa will apparently be a "unique restaurant style store," according to the site Popville. The restaurant-style Wawa will "feature the best of Wawa's products and innovations in a casual, inviting setting."

PoPville welcomes Wawa, calling the opening "epic news." Georgetown Metropolitan, on the other hand, says: "If you’re from a particular part of the mid Atlantic, Wawa holds a dear place in your heart, for some reason. For the rest of us, it’s a slightly nicer version of a 7-11."
