El Centro, the latest taqueria cum tequileria from Chef Richard Sandoval, will open in Georgetown "any day now," according to the restaurant team.
The restaurant will open its second DC location as it takes over at 1218 Wisconsin Ave. NW, previously home to Third Edition. El Centro will occupy two floors, both will have dining, and an outside patio for sipping drinks in nice weather.
An attorney for the restaurant and a regional manager negotiated a new agreement for El Centro's liquor license with the Georgetown Advisory Neighborhood Commission Tuesday.
Third Edition closed in February and El Centro has taken over its liquor license.
