New Details Emerge in Fatal Stabbing of DC Lawyer at Luxury Hotel: Report

DC lawyer David Messerschmitt, found dead in a room at a luxury hotel last week, was stabbed in the back, according to a report by The Washington Post.
Radio station WTOP also reported today that blood was found on the walls, door and floor. Police also found lubricant, a condom, a computer, Messerschmitt’s cellphone and other items.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a person of interest in reference to the homicide of 30 year-old David Messerschmittof Northeast, Washington, DC, whose body was discovered last Tuesday at approximately 11:12 am, in the 1100 block of 14th Street, NW.

Messerschmitt worked as a Technology & Commercial Transactions attorney at DLA Piper, according to his profile on LinkedIn.
The above photos of the person of interest were taken inside of the Donovan Hotel at approximately 7:45 pm, on Monday, Feb. 9. He was reported missing Tuesday at 1:50 a.m. by his wife.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to$25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
