Widow of DC Lawyer Fatally Stabbed in Luxury Hotel Pleas for Help from Public

The widow of DC lawyer David Messerschmitt held a news conference in DC Wednesday, hoping someone will come forward with some answers about his murder. Messerschmitt was found dead in a room at a luxury hotel Feb. 10 after he was stabbed in the back, according to police.
A video [see below] and photos of a woman seen at the hotel the night before the murder were released by police, but no one has come forward, apparently, to identify her. Widow Kim Voung said Wednesday at a news conference that she is stepping forward in hopes that someone will recognize the woman and contact police.

The high-profile crime included lurid details, from police records: Blood was found on the walls, door and floor, and police also found lubricant, a condom, a computer, Messerschmitt’s cellphone and other items, radio station WTOP reported.
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a person of interest in reference to the homicide of the 30 year-old lawyer, whose body was discovered Feb. 10 at approximately 11:12 am, in the 1100 block of 14th Street, NW.
Messerschmitt worked as a Technology & Commercial Transactions attorney at DLA Piper, according to his profile on LinkedIn.
The above photos of the person of interest were taken inside of the Donovan Hotel at approximately 7:45 pm, on Monday, Feb. 9. He was reported missing Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 1:50 a.m. by his wife.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently is offering a reward of up to$25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
