1 Adult, 3 Teens Accused In Armed Carjacking Case

Metropolitan Police Department has charged one man and three teen boys in connection with an armed carjacking in the Bellvue area.

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department detectives arrested one man and three teenage boys in connection with an armed carjacking that occurred Wednesday afternoon in the Bellvue area, according to a police release.

Officers from the Seventh District responded around 3:09 p.m., to the report of a carjacking in the 100 block of Chesapeake St., S.E. Arriving on the scene, they found the stolen vehicle, which was occupied by the four suspects. The responding officers apprehended the suspects after they tried to flee the area on foot.

MPD arrested one 14 year-old boy, two 13 year-old boys, and Zamar Sharpe, 21, all of Southeast, and charged them with armed carjacking (gun).

On Thursday, MPD released photos and video of four suspects wanted in two armed carjackings that occurred on Saturday in the District. An MPD spokeswoman t0ld Patch the four individuals arrested Wednesday were only charged in connection with the armed carjacking on Chesapeake Street, Southeast. MPD would update its release later if further charges are made against Sharpe and the three teens.
