2 Suspicious Missing Person Cases In DC Under Investigation
D.C. Police are asking the public's help in locating two people who are missing under suspicious circumstances.
WASHINGTON, DC — The Metropolitan Police Department is asking the public's help in solving two missing person cases, according to a post on MPD's official Twitter account. MPD Chief Peter Newsham conducted a press briefing Thursday, where he expressed concern about these two unrelated cases, which he described as suspicious in nature.
In the first case, Keith Johnson, 43, was last seen about 8 a.m., on July 13, in the 1800 block of Tobias Drive, S.E. The vehicle he was last known to be operating was discovered July 16, in the 3700 block of D St., S.E.
"What was very concerning to us is it there was a significant amount of blood that was located in the rear and in the front passenger seat of that vehicle," Newsham said. "Our detectives are currently working to determine whether or not the blood that's in that vehicle was Mr. Johnson's blood. We do not have that information at this time."

After a search of the vehicle, police located Johnson's wallet. MPD also did a check on his bank accounts but did not find any activity on those accounts since he was initially reported missing.
On Wednesday, MPD officers conducted a search of Anacostia Park and will continue to search the area in an attempt to locate Johnson, according to Newsham.

Johnson is described as a Black male with a medium brown complexion. He stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 210 pounds. He has brown eyes and mixed gray hair. According to police, he was last seen wearing a purple shirt, jean shorts, gray and white sneakers, and a black hat.
The second missing person case concerns Olga Ooro, 34, who was last seen in the evening of July 16, in the 300 block of Massachusetts Ave., N.W. She had just returned home from dinner with a boyfriend and her 7-year-old son, according to Newsham.
"The 7-year-old was found wandering the halls on Saturday, which was two days later," Newsham said. "He told folks in the building that he hadn't seen his mom since the 16th."
Investigators have interviewed multiple people in connection with Ooro's disappearance and obtained surveillance footage from the building.
"The family of Miss Ooro said that this behavior from her is completely out of the ordinary," Newsham said. "She would never leave her son like that."
The last person seen with Ooro was her boyfriend, according to Newsham.
"We are a little concerned that there is a history of domestic violence in this case, so he is somebody who so far has been cooperating with our investigation," Newsham said. He also confirmed that the boyfriend is not the father of Ooro's son and that the boy is currently in his father's care.

Ooro is described as a Black female, with dark brown complexion. She stands 5-foot-9, weighs 125, and has black hair and brown eyes.
MPD asks anyone with information about the location of either Johnson or Ooro to call 202-727-9099 or text 50411.
The Metropolitan Police Department will hold a media availability today at 12 pm to bring awareness to two suspicious missing persons cases in the District of Columbia.
