2nd Arrest Made In Killing Of 11-Year-Old Davon McNeal​

WASHINGTON, DC —Homicide detectives from the of Metropolitan Police Department arrested a second suspect Friday in the July 4 fatal shooting of Davon McNeal following a Peace Cookout in Anacostia, according to a police release. Police are also asking the public's help in locating two other suspects who remain at large.

On Saturday, around 9:20 p.m., Seventh District officers were flagged down by a citizen in 1400 block of Cedar Street, S.E., in connection with a shooting, said Police Chief Peter Newsham, during the Thursday press briefing. The officers found McNeal outside his family home, suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and EMS transported McNeal to a nearby hospital, but all life-saving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead.

Acting on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant Thursday, MPD arrested and Daryle Bond, of Southeast, and charged him with first degree murder while armed (premeditated).

On Friday, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Christian Wingfield, 22, of Hillcrest Heights, Maryland, and charged him with first degree murder while armed (premeditated).

Police have also identified two other suspects in the case: Carlo General, 19, and Marcel Gordon, 25, both of Southeast. They are both wanted on first degree murder while armed (premeditated) arrest warrants.

MPD released photos of the two suspects and is asking the public's help in locating them. General and Gordon should be considered armed and dangerous, according to police.

Police ask anyone with information about the location of these suspects or this shooting incident to call 202-727-9099 or send a text message to 50411. A $25,000 reward is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case.
