2nd Suspect In Shooting Of 10-Year-Old Girl Turns Self In: Report

Makiyah Wilson died in a hail of bullets in D.C. after she went to go buy ice cream.

WASHINGTON, DC -- A second suspect in the death of 10-year-old Makiyah Wilson reportedly has turned himself into police.

The Washington Post reports that 21-year-old Quentin Michals turned himself in after a warrant was issued for his arrest on a charge of first-degree murder.

Police had already arrested 20-year-old Qujuan Thomas on a first-degree murder charge, and he will make a court appearance Monday, the Post reported.

Police say two other men responsible for the girl's death remain at large.

Wilson was killed near her home in Clay Terrace on July 16. Police said four masked men opened fire in a courtyard area of 300 block of 53rd St. NE. around 8 p.m. that day, killing Wilson and injuring others in the crowd.

Video shows the suspects, armed with handguns and at least one assault weapon, fired over 70 rounds in multiple directions, officials said at the time. The suspects got in and out of black, four-door Infiniti sedan.

The car involved in the shooting was located in Prince George's County and the man who stole the car was arrested earlier this month. Kevin Eugene Jones, 20, of Lanham was charged by the Prince George's County Police Department with armed carjacking, first- and-second-degree-assault, use of a firearm in a felony and theft of the car.

Police said the carjacking happened on July 1, about two weeks before Wilson was fatally shot near her home in Clay Terrace.

The investigation remains ongoing and police said they will continue to need the public's help to find those responsible for Wilson's death.
