3 Arrested For Assault Near National Arboretum: Police Report

D.C. Police charged two men and a woman in connection with an assault with a dangerous weapon incident near the National Arboretum.

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department detectives from the Fifth District arrested three suspects in connection with a Monday morning assault with a dangerous weapon offense that took place near the National Arboretum, according to a police report.

On Monday, around 12:28 a.m., the three suspects were involved in an altercation in the 2200 Block of New York Avenue, Northeast. During the altercation, the suspects produced a handgun and knives. One of the suspects was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. Responding officers apprehended the suspects and recovered a handgun and two knives at the scene of the altercation.

  • Alonzo Barringer, 40, of Northwest, who was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (gun), assault with a dangerous weapon (knife), and carrying a pistol without a license;
  • Alicia Carson, 39, of Northeast, who was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (gun);
  • Sean Adams, 32, of Suitland, Maryland, who was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (knife) and simple assault.
