3rd Teen Charged In Assault, Burglary Near Howard University

DC Police detectives arrested a third suspect in connection with a sexual abuse and burglary near Howard University.

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department detectives arrested a third teenage suspect in connection with a burglary and sexual assault that took place Feb. 7 near Howard University, according to a police release.

On Feb. 7, around 2:56 a.m., suspects entered a residence in the 700 block of Girard Street, Northwest, and sexually assaulted a woman. After taking property, the suspects fled the scene in the victim's vehicle, which was later recovered.

Police arrested two boys — one 14, the other 16 — on Feb. 7, and charged them with burglary one and theft one.

Acting on a D.C. Superior Court custody order, police arrested a 13-year-old boy of Northwest and charged him with first-degree sexual abuse and first-degree burglary.
