6 Dead Following 5 Weekend Shooting Incidents In DC

D.C. homicide detectives are investigating five shooting incidents over the weekend that left five men and one woman dead.

WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating five shooting incidents that took place over the weekend, which left five men and one women dead, according to multiple police releases.

In the first case, officers from the Seventh District responded around 9:56 p.m., on Friday, to the 1600 block of W St., S.E., for the sounds of gunshots. Officers found Yisa Jeffcoat, 28, of Southeast, suffering from gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS transported him to an area hospital, where all lifesaving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead.

The second case also took place Friday night in the Seventh District. Officers responded around 11:22 p.m., to the 2400 block of Elvans Road, S.E., where they found Eugene Miller, 41, of Brandywine, Maryland, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. FEMS determined he had died and later transported his body to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Around 2:05 p.m., on Saturday, officers from the Fifth District responded to the 1700 block of Irving St., N.E., for the report of a burglary in progress and the sounds of gunshots. Police found two men suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. FEMS determined that both victims had died from their wounds and transported their bodies to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Police identified the two decedents as 59-year-old Marcus Nelson, and 39-year-old Simmeon Williams, both of Northeast.

In the fourth case, officers from the Sixth District responded around 2:15 p.m., on Saturday, to the 4500 block of Quarles St., N.E., for the report of a shooting. They learned that a man was taken by private vehicle to a local hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound. All lifesaving efforts failed, and the man was declared dead. MPD identified the deceased victim as Darnell Mack, 25, of Northeast.

In the final case, officers from the Seventh District were dispatched to the 2300 block of Green St., S.E., around 2:54 a.m., on Sunday, for the report of gunshots. They found a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. FEMS determined the woman was deceased and transported her to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Police identified the woman as Noelle Wilson, 31, of Northeast.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any persons responsible for committing a homicide in the District. Police ask anyone with information about these cases to call 202-727-9099 or send an anonymous tip by text to 50411.
