6-Year-Old Hit By Car In DC: Reports
The child reportedly was struck near a school in Southeast Monday afternoon.

WASHINGTON, DC -- A 6-year-old child was struck by a car near a school in D.C. on Monday, according to reports.
Fox 5 reports that the child was hit in the 2400 block of Alabama Avenue SE at around 3:15 p.m, citing D.C. police.
The location is in the same block as Garfield Prepatory Academy, and that time coincides when the school typically dismisses. However, WJLA quoted a D.C. Public Schools official as saying the child does not attend the school.

The child was sent to the hospital and was conscious and breathing, according to Fox 5.
