African-American Museum Releasing Passes Wednesday Morning: Report

The museum is still a hot ticket, and it's releasing the latest batch of passes on Wednesday, so you'd better snatch 'em up quick.

WASHINGTON, DC — The National Museum of African-American History and Culture reportedly will be releasing its latest batch of timed-entry passes for July on Wednesday morning.

The museum is still the toughest ticket to get in downtown D.C., other than perhaps the Hirshhorn Museum. And it's been nearly impossible to get in ever since it opened in late 2016. However, new passes will be made available at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, and you'd better act fast if you want access to the museum in July, according to an NBC Washington report.

You can get up to six advanced-timed passes at a time, but expect those tickets to sell out very quickly. The passes are free, and once you are confirmed, you'll get an email that will allow you to download the pass.

You're not completely out of luck if you don't get a timed pass. Small groups can schedule a visit with the museum through the website, and there are a limited number of walk-up passes available weekdays beginning at 1 a.m., with same-day passes available online at 6:30 a.m.

Visit the museum's website to grab your timed pass when the time arrives.
