1. Washington Ranked Best Large City For Gen Z Grads (patch.com) — Washington, DC has been named the top large U.S. city for new college graduates, thanks to strong early-career earnings, relatively affordable starter homes, and high urban quality of life. The ranking, based on data from Redfin and Glassdoor, highlights how local universities and abundant job prospects keep many graduates in the District or attract them from across the country.
2. Teenager facing murder charges after shooting another teen in DC high school parking lot (wusa9.com) — A 15-year-old boy is facing murder and assault charges after a deadly shooting in the parking lot of Woodson High School in Northeast Washington, D.C. that killed 17-year-old Kenzell Locust. Court testimony describes a bike confrontation, exchanged gunfire, and bullets striking nearby homes and cars, while the judge and family members grapple with the teen suspect’s medical history and trauma. The case underscores ongoing safety concerns around D.C. schools.
3. 2 DC shootings happen 35 minutes apart; investigation underway (dcnewsnow.com) — Two people were injured in separate shootings in Washington, D.C. Wednesday night, happening just 35 minutes apart in Northwest and Southeast. Both victims were conscious with non–life‑threatening injuries, and police are asking anyone with information to contact MPD as detectives work to identify suspects.
4.
