Amtrak Service Canceled Between DC, Boston Due To Heavy Rain

WASHINGTON, DC — Amtrak Northeast canceled all service between Washington, D.C. and Boston around 11 a.m. Thursday, according to posts on the company's official Twitter account.

Around 4:30 a.m., Amtrak Northeast notified travelers that severe weather and significant rainfall and flooding had forced them to cancel all service between Philadelphia and Boston with departures before 9 a.m. on Thursday.

Travelers seeking reservation assistance were directed to call 800-USA-RAIL.
