Arrest Made In DC Third Street Tunnel Shooting: Report

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Police have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection to a July 30 shooting at the I-395 tunnel in D.C. that may have stemmed from road rage, according to a report. Police said Daquan Brooks, no fixed address, was arrested and faces charges.

The Metropolitan Police Department tweeted shortly before 8 p.m. last Tuesday that they were looking for a vehicle involved in an "Assault w/ Intent to Kill offense" that happened in the 3rd Street Tunnel near Massachusetts Avenue Northwest. They shared photos of the suspect’s vehicle, which appeared to have significant damage to its rear end.

Police said a man driving an SUV was shot by Brooks around 3:30 p.m. after a rear-end crash escalated into an argument, according to a report. Witnesses also described the altercation as a road rage incident. The victim was hospitalized with serious injuries.
