Assault With A Dangerous Weapon Charge For Southeast Teen: Police
D.C. Police charged a Southeast teen in connection with a shooting in the Barry Farm area Monday night.
WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department detectives arrested a suspect in connection with an assault with a dangerous weapon offense that took place Monday in the Barry Farm area, according to a police release.
On Monday, Feb. 24, around 7:34 p.m., officers from the Seventh District responded to the report of a shooting in the 2600 block of Douglass Road, S.E. Arriving on the scene, officers found a teenage boy suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and EMS took the victim to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Following an investigation, officers determined the shooting was the result of a dispute between known parties inside a residential building. Police arrested a 17-year-old boy from Southeast and charged him with assault with a dangerous weapon (gun).
