Assault With Intent To Kill Charge Against Oxon Hill Man: Police

An Oxon Hill man was arrested Tuesday and charged with assault with intent to kill​ in a Jan. 30 shooting in Southeast.

WASHINGTON, DC — The Metropolitan Police Department arrested an Oxon Hill man Tuesday in connection with a January shooting assault in the Marshall Heights area, according to a police release.

On Thursday, Jan. 30, around 2:32 p.m., officers from the Sixth District responded to the 5300 block of E Street, S.E., for the report of a shooting. Arriving on the scene, they found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS transported the man to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Acting on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, officers from the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located Allen Richard Byrd, 27, of Oxon Hill, Maryland, on Tuesday, March 3, and charged him with assault with intent to kill (gun).
