Attempted Bank Robbery In Foggy Bottom Under Investigation

D.C. Police detectives and an FBI task force are investigating an attempted robbery of a Foggy Bottom bank by an unarmed man.

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division and the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force are seeking the public's help in identifying and locating an unarmed man who attempted to rob a Foggy Bottom bank Tuesday, according to a police release.

The suspect entered the Citi Bank in the 2100 block of L Street, N.W., on Tuesday, Feb. 18, around 9:42 a.m. He passed a note to a teller demanding money. When the teller refused to comply, the suspect left the bank. A surveillance camera captured images of the suspect.
