Leading Home Care Franchise Opens New Location in Washington, D.C. Providing a Higher Standard of Quality Care
BrightStar Care, the nation's leading home care and medical staffing franchise with more than 400 corporate and independently owned and operated agencies, has opened its newest location in Washington, D.C. This new agency serves families across the D.C. area and is the first BrightStar Care location in the city. BrightStar Care of Washington, D.C. provides a higher standard of medical staffing and home care services, including companion care, personal care, skilled nursing, short-term transitional care, Alzheimer’s and Dementia care.
Dan Price is the proud owner of 18 BrightStar Care franchise locations across Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, and West Virginia. A Harvard-educated accountant turned entrepreneur, Dan first made his mark co-founding Send-A-Song in the 1990s with his brother Tim. Dan and Tim then pivoted the business into Price Interactive, an interactive voice response technology firm that sparked multiple spin-offs like Contact Solutions and Helios HR, fueling the D.C. area’s tech ecosystem. After selling Price Interactive in 2001, Dan shifted his focus to community-driven ventures—ultimately leading him to home healthcare franchising with BrightStar Care in 2016.
Dan’s journey to BrightStar Care is rooted in a lifelong passion for innovation, service, and community enrichment. After establishing the Sweet Virginia Foundation—a nonprofit that educates children about bees and donates thousands of flowers to seniors—he was drawn to BrightStar Care’s commitment to compassionate, high-quality care. Inspired by the brand’s strong reputation, Joint Commission accreditation, and proven business model, Dan expanded rapidly, opening 17 additional BrightStar Care units across Virginia, Maryland, D.C., and West Virginia. Today, his agencies serve thousands of clients and employ hundreds of nurses, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
