DC Sketchfest is DC's only sketch comedy festival and features dozens of comedy troupes from the US and Canada for four days only, March 25-28, at The DC Arts Center. DC Sketchfest is organized by the DC sketch comedy community and founded by Bad Medicine and Rails Comedy.

Rails Comedy (DC)Founded in 2021, Rails Comedy is a rising force in the Washington, D.C. comedy scene with a focus on the power of ensemble comedy. Rails Comedy is dedicated to fostering local talent and building comedy around community in the nation’s capital. They are a proud co-founder of DC Sketchfest, the first festival dedicated to sketch comedy in the capital region, which performed to sold out audiences in 2024 and 2025. Rails Comedy performers have been featured at renowned festivals across the country and the world, including Montréal Sketchfest (Canada), Edinburgh Festival Fringe (UK), and Capital Fringe (DC).
Drop the Root Beer and Run (Seattle)Since they formed in the wilds of Olympia, WA in 2011, Drop the Root Beer and Run have been spreading their unique brand of sketch comedy all over North America. They have performed in SketchFest Seattle, Denver SketchFest, Portland Sketchfest, DC Sketchfest, Bumbershoot Arts Festival, and Vancouver Sketchfest. They think you’re really cool and want to be friends, but are intimidated by your extensive jazz record collection.
Ghost Girl (NYC)Ghost Girl is a sketch team hailing from the vibrant comedy scene of NYC. We've been a house team at the Magnet Theater since 2022. Our diverse team of actors and writers are all about tackling the heightened, the surreal, and the twisted. Our sketches operate on the logic of your favorite Saturday morning cartoon as we tackle such subjects like therapy, technology, and yes - even magic cats.
As a team we have had the pleasure of performing at sketch festivals in Philly, DC, Toronto, Montreal, Austin, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, and beyond! You may have seen our dastardly performers and writers featured in GOLD Comedy, Sports Illustrated, tv commercials, DC Fringe Fest, and @dudettewithsign, to name a few.
