DC Makes Ivanka Trump Very, Very Sad: Report

The city reportedly "punctures [Ivanka and Jared Kushner's] self-esteem on a daily basis."

WASHINGTON, DC — In a city where just 4 percent of residents voted for President Trump, this is likely to be very good news to D.C. locals: Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump reportedly are very sad here and wish they were in New York.

A new article in Vanity Fair quotes two sources close to the couple — who reside in the Kalorama neighborhood of D.C. — claiming that the pair are downright miserable. The city "punctures their self-esteem on a daily basis," according to the report.

“Excuse me,” said one former Trump adviser. “This is not a royal family, and she’s not the princess royal.” (In fact, “princess royal” is a term that some West Wing advisers apply to her, though never to her face.)
When I asked a longtime associate how Jared and Ivanka felt about their time in Washington, the first word uttered was “sacrificial.”
It’s clear that, after an initial period of awe at the sheer power of their positions, Jared and Ivanka have been stung by the vitriol directed at them.

Not surprisingly, D.C. residents have taken this as a point of pride.
