DC Man Charged With First Degree Murder In April 17 Fatal Shooting
Homicide detectives charged a Southeast man in connection with the April 17 fatal shooting of 38-year-old Tiffany Wiggins.

WASHINGTON, DC — Morris Jones, 37, of Southeast was arrested Tuesday in connection with the fatal shooting of 38-year-old Tiffany Wiggins of Southeast, according to a police release.
Acting on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, police arrested Jones and charged him with first degree murder while armed in Wiggins' death, according to the release.
Around 11:16 a.m., on April 17. officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Sixth District responded to the 3800 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast for the sound of gunshots. Once there, they found Wiggins unconscious and not breathing.

D.C. Fire and EMS examined Wiggins, who was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, and determined that she had died. Her body was later taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone who supplies information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any person responsible for a homicide in the District.
