D.C Public Schools is altering its schedule for the rest of March and canceling spring break in April due to coronavirus concerns.

WASHINGTON, DC — All D.C. Public Schools (DCPS) will be closed for students from March 16-31, according to a DCPS release. These closures are being made as part of the District's response to the new coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. For teachers, March 16 will be a professional development day.
In order to make these changes, DCPS is canceling the April spring break period. Instead, spring break will be from March 17-23. Students will take part in distance learning March 14-31. In the coming days, DCPS will be sharing information about distance learning.
