DC Voters Head To Polls Tuesday For Democratic Party Primary
D.C. residents will vote Tuesday on which Democratic Party candidates they wish to see on the ballot for the Nov. 8 general election.
WASHINGTON, DC — District voters are heading to polls on Tuesday to vote in the Democratic Party primary.
This year, voters will decide on races for delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives; shadow representative for the U.S. House; mayor, chairman of the D.C. City Council, at-large member of the D.C. Council; members of the D.C. Council in wards 1, 3, 5, and 6; and the D.C. attorney general. The winners in each race will represent the Democratic Party in the Nov. 8 General Election.
Election Day voting centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Registered voters may cast their vote at any center, regardless of their address. Information about the location of Tuesday's voting centers is available on the Board of Elections website.

D.C. residents who are not registered can still vote on Tuesday by completing a same-day registration. In order to do that, they will need to bring proof of residence and other paperwork with them to the polls. Instructions for same-day registration are available on the Board of Elections website.
Some D.C. residents already cast their ballots during the June 10-19 early voting period. The early voting centers around the District were closed on Monday for the Juneteenth holiday.

Voters who requested a mail-in ballot can still submit their completed ballot at any of the 55 drop boxes located around the district or they can drop the ballots off at any voting center before the polls close at 8 p.m., on Tuesday. Mailed ballots must be postmarked by June 21 and received by the Board of Elections no later than June 28.
Preparing for Democratic Primary
The Democratic Party primary is Tuesday, June 21. The 96 vote centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. As long as you are in line by 8 p.m., you will be able to vote. A full list of the 95 vote centers is available in the district's Voter Guide.
