District Heights Woman Killed In DC Shooting: Police

D.C. Police are investigation the fatal shooting of a District Heights, Maryland woman on Wednesday night in Southeast.

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a Maryland woman that took place Tuesday night in the Fort Davis Park area, according to a police release.

Around 10:37 p.m., officers from MPD's Sixth District responded to the 3900 block of Alabama Avenue, S.E. for the report of a shooting.

A short time later, officers from the Prince George's County Police Department were dispatched to the 3900 block of Suitland Road in Suitland, Maryland, for the report of a shooting. When they arrived on the scene, they found an adult female inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. Prince George's Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment, where all life-saving efforts failed, and she was pronounced dead. An investigation revealed the shooting had taken place in the 3900 block of Alabama Avenue, S.E.

Police identified the decedent as Brea Moon, 21, of District Heights, Maryland.
