Washington, DC – August 19, 2025 – The Founding Church of Scientology of Washington, DC recently hosted a seminar exploring the Power of the Subconscious Mind.

Plato, the ancient Greek philosopher, suggested that much of knowledge and motivation exists beyond awareness, with the soul recalling truths not consciously known. In the 17th century, German philosopher Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz introduced the idea of petites perceptions—tiny unconscious perceptions that influence thought. Later, in 1900, Sigmund Freud made the unconscious the cornerstone of psychoanalysis.

Clearly, interest in the hidden workings of the mind has persisted throughout human history. People continue to sense that something deeper—beyond awareness—is influencing their lives.

Recognizing this enduring fascination, the Founding Church of Scientology hosted a seminar on the subject. Its Founder, L. Ron Hubbard, not only explored the subconscious mind but also developed practical methods for gaining control over it—so that one is no longer ruled by unwanted thoughts and emotions.
