Fatal Shooting Of Southeast Man In Fairlawn Area Under Investigation

Homicide detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating the death of 32-year-old Rashad Davis of Southeast on Friday.

WASHINGTON, DC — D.C. homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting Friday afternoon of 32-year-old Rashad Davis of Southeast in the Fairlawn area of the District, according to a police release.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Sixth District found Davis suffering from gunshot wounds in the 2300 block of Nicholson Street, Southeast. They had been called to the area around 4:29 p.m. for the report of a shooting.

Emergency medical personnel examined Davis and determined that he had died from his injuries. They later transported him to the Office of the Chief Examiner.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone who supplies information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any person responsible for a homicide in the District.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call MPD at 202-727-9099. Anonymous tips may be submitted via the department's text tip line by texting a message to 50411.
