The Fitzgerald Of Palisades, A Kisco Signature Community

WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 15, 2025) - The Fitzgerald of Palisades, a Kisco Signature community, and Amy Kaslow Gallery are delighted to announce the winner of the “Call to Artists” competition!

Congratulations to Richard Binder, whose powerful and evocative concept “Uplifting” has been selected as the winning sculpture for The Fitzgerald of Palisades. Uplifting inspires the spirit of community, connection, and support that defines life at The Fitzgerald. Binder’s sculpture captures the essence of neighbors motivated to help each other physically and socially. The sculpture’s swooping form with intertwined arms reaching upward, is a visual metaphor for the environment Kisco creates in senior living communities: a place where each person lifts and supports one another. Binder’s work is an artistic tribute to shared strength, resilience, and the idea that we thrive best when we live for each other.

Set within the refined and welcoming atmosphere of The Fitzgerald, a boutique senior living community nestled in the Palisades, Binder’s sculpture will stand as a lasting emblem of what it means to live well, together. We hope it reminds residents each day of the power of connection.

We thank our panel of judges for their time and insights throughout this process, which provided a stunning opportunity to showcase the best sculptors in the DMV. The panel reviewed a large number of submissions, and we are grateful for the response from the art community.

Thanks most importantly, to talented sculptors who took the time to move through what turned out to be a highly competitive process; the selection panel had many dozens of first-rate applications to review. We are grateful for the talent, passion, and inspiration you brought to this project. Stay tuned for more as we bring “Uplifting” to life!
