Giant Panda Tian Tian Plays in a Tree at National Zoo in DC (Video)
The father of Bao Bao enjoys some frolicking in the branches of a tree at the zoo in a recent video.

WASHINGTON, DC — Bao Bao may be gone, but the panda antics continue at the National Zoo. The Smithsonian captured video of Bao Bao's father, Tian Tian, playing high up in the branches of a tree at the zoo, which you can watch in the embedded video below.
Tian Tian is a 275-pound male giant panda that was born in 1997 in China. Zookeepers have used Tian's semen to impregnate female panda Mei Xiang on several occasions, producing Bao Bao, who left earlier this year, and Bei Bei, who still lives at the zoo, along with Tai Shan, who left the zoo in February 2010.
Tian, like many male giant pandas, is mostly solitary and only interacts with Mei Xiang during breeding season.

#TianTian versus tree. We think Tian Tian—with his adept climbing skills—wins this one. #PandaStory pic.twitter.com/eWbx4qG3GV
