Here's How Amazon's Massive Headquarters Would Fit In DC

The deadline to submit bids for Amazon's huge second HQ is Thursday night.

WASHINGTON, DC -- As we've reported, D.C. is in the running for a huge Amazon complex that would serve as the retailing giant's second headquarters, which would span around 33 buildings and bring 50,000 employees to the lucky city. But how would D.C. fit such a huge number of employees in an already densely packed city?

Thanks to the Washington Post, we've got a helpful map that shows how all those employees could be squeezed into one spot. That map is embedded below, and it appears D.C.'s burgeoning Navy Yard area would see the bulk of the growth.

The deadline for cities to submit bids is fast approaching: they must be in by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on Thursday. D.C. will have a lot of competition, with dozens of cities nationwide likely submitting bids.
