Homicide Charges Filed Against DC Man In Death Of Southeast Teen
D.C. Police detectives charged an 18-year-old Southwest man with First Degree Murder While Armed (Premeditated) in death of Southeast teen.
WASHINGTON, DC -- Metropolitan Police Department detectives arrested a suspect in connection with the October murder of Thomas Johnson, 15, of Southeast, D.C., according to a police release.
On Wednesday, Oct. 9, at about 1:15 p.m., officers from the First District responded to the 1300 block of Half Street, S.W., for a report of gunshots. When they arrived on the scene, officers found Johnson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services determined Johnson was not showing signs of life, and his body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Acting on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force members arrested Javon Gunter, 18, of Southwest on Friday, Jan. 3. Gunter was take to the Homicide Branch and charged with First Degree Murder While Armed (Premeditated).
