Homicide Detectives Charge DC Man In 2006 Murder Case

WASHINGTON, DC -- Metropolitan Police Department detectives arrested a D.C. man in connection with a 2006 homicide case, according to a police release. Levon Williams, 32, of Northwest D.C., was charged Thursday, Dec. 26, with the murder of Marcus Johnson, 35, of Northwest.

On Monday, May 1, 2006, at about 8:44 p.m., officers from the Fifth District responded to the report of a shooting in the 1400 block of First St., N.W. Upon arrival, they found Johnson unconscious and suffering from gunshot wounds.

D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported Johnson to an area hospital. After all life-saving efforts had failed, he was pronounced dead.

Pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, members of MPD's Fugitive Unit transported Williams on Thursday, Dec. 26, to the Homicide Branch. Once there, he was charged with Second Degree Murder.
