Horton’s Kids (HK), the Southeast DC nonprofit dedicated to supporting families and helping students graduate from high school, college or career-ready, hosted its annual Mother’s Day Brunch at the Horton’s Kids Hub in Historic Anacostia on Saturday, May 10. The event welcomed more than 100 moms, grandmothers, and female caregivers for an afternoon of self-care, family activities and community.
Guests enjoyed a catered brunch and participated in interactive activities like family portraits, flower arranging workshops, and gratitude-themed crafts. The event focused on wellness and creativity, and honored the vital role caregivers play in shaping the lives of the children that Horton’s Kids serve.
The brunch was sponsored by Venn Strategies, a longtime Horton’s Kids partner. In addition to sponsoring the event, Venn employees volunteered their time by helping to serve food, guide activities, and connect with guests.
