Horton’s Kids Takes Over Nationals Park for 17th Annual ‘Home Runs' Fundraiser

Family-Friendly Event Raises Funds to Empower Southeast DC Youth

WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 12, 2025) — Horton’s Kids (HK), a leading nonprofit serving students and their families in Southeast DC’s Historic Anacostia, will host its 17th annual Home Runs event at Nationals Park on Wednesday, July 9. During this ticketed event held while the Nationals are away, guests will enjoy the rare opportunity to explore the stadium like never before while supporting a powerful mission: helping local children from Southeast DC succeed in school, life, and beyond.

The organization’s largest family-friendly fundraiser of the year turns Nationals Park into a dynamic playground for all ages, featuring batting practice in the Nationals’ batting cages, fast-pitch competitions in the bullpen, mascot races with Teddy, base running for kids, bounce houses, carnival games, and stadium fare served right on the field. All proceeds from the event will directly support Horton’s Kids’ award-winning programs in education, youth development, and family engagement. Over the past 17 years, the event has raised more than $6 million to fund comprehensive services for children in Southeast DC.

"For more than 35 years, Horton’s Kids has worked alongside families in Historic Anacostia to ensure children have the tools and opportunities they need to thrive in school, after graduation, and in life,” said Erica Ahdoot, CEO of Horton’s Kids. “Home Runs is more than just a night of fun at Nationals Park, it’s a celebration of community, resilience, and what’s possible when we invest in our youth. We want to thank our sponsorship partners, staff and participating families for making this such a successful event each summer.”
