Huge Rat Rummages Through American University Restaurant: Report

WASHINGTON, DC -- An alarming new video shows a huge rat poking around in food in what is reportedly a restaurant on the campus of American University.

ABC 7 reporter Anna-Lysa Gayle posted the footage on Twitter, which was reportedly taken by a student.

In the video (embedded below), you can see a large rat digging through a box of lettuce inside the restaurant.

Gayle later tweeted a statement from American University, which indicated that the restaurant in question was the Megabytes Cafe. The university said it had closed the restaurant and would not reopen it "until we have sufficient time to develop a remediation plan," which would keep it closed until at least through next Friday.
