Huge Wind Gust Blows Scaffolding Off House on Capitol Hill [Photos]
High wind gusts approaching hurricane strength have been causing damage throughout the D.C. region.
WASHINGTON, DC — High winds have been causing problems throughout the D.C. area Monday morning, and one user on Twitter reports that a big gust of wind knocked scaffolding off the side of a house on Capitol Hill and into the street.
D.C. resident Dan Watson said shortly after midnight on Monday the scaffolding was blown off a neighbor's house. Another local named Dan Seals replied with a photo of an awning blown into the road near Dupont Circle.
The area will be under a high-wind warning until 6 p.m. Monday, so more damage could be coming to the District.
