Hurry: Tickets Open Up for African-American History Museum in DC
The African-American History Museum has released a new batch of tickets for May, but you'd better hurry.
WASHINGTON, DC — Tickets are once again available for the African-American History Museum, but you'd better hurry and snatch them up.
The Smithsonian's newest museum at the foot of the Washington Monument has been the hottest ticket in town since opening last year. On Wednesday, Feb. 1, advance passes will be available for May, but they're likely to go quickly.
The huge demand forced the National Museum of African American History and Culture to use timed entry passes, along with advance tickets that are released months before.

It's still possible to get same-day passes, but it's challenging. You can try to get up at 6:30 a.m. to grab a limited number of passes made available online or wait in line for 9:15 a.m. ticket distributions. There are a limited number of walk-up passes available at 1 p.m. on weekdays, but not weekends.
President Barack Obama spoke at the museum's star-studded grand opening ceremony in September, and since then a total of 600,000 people have visited the museum.
