Man Under Supervision Charged In Northwest Fatal Stabbing
Homicide detectives charged a Northeast man Wednesday in connection with the Aug. 12 fatal stabbing of Sa'id Grey.
WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department arrested a Northeast man in connection with the Aug. 12 fatal stabbing of Sa’id Grey, 40, of Northwest, according to a police release.
Around 12:46 p.m., officers from the Fourth District responded to a residential building in the 1300 block of Missouri Ave., N.W. They found Grey inside of a hallway in the building suffering from stab wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS determined Grey showed no signs consistent with life and later transported him to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Acting on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant Wednesday, detectives arrested Jaamil Hipps, 43, of Northeast, and charged him with second degree murder while armed.

Following an investigation, detectives determined the stabbing was the result of a dispute between known individuals. Hipps was under the supervision of the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency for the District of Columbia when he was arrested. Hipps has previously been charged with carrying a pistol without a license, aggravated assault while armed and assault with intent to kill.
