Man Dies Following Marshall Heights Shooting: DC Police

Homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that took place Monday morning in the Marshall Heights neighborhood.

WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Policer Department are investigating a fatal shooting that took place early Monday morning in the Marshall Heights area, according to a police report.

An officer from the Sixth District responded around 1:07 p.m., to the 5000 block of Queens Stroll Place, S.E., for the report of a shooting. The officer found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS transported the man to an area hospital, but all life-saving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead. Police identified the man as David Jefferson, 58, of no fixed address.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any persons responsible for committing a homicide in the District. Police ask anyone with information about this homicide to call 202-727-9099 or send an anonymous tip by text to 50411.
