March For Life 2020: Where To Go For DC Rally

WASHINGTON, DC — The 47th annual March For Life is planned this weekend in cities across the United States, anchored by the three-day national event in Washington, D.C.

The March for Life, held by the March for Life Education and Defense Fund, is billed as a human rights demonstration giving anti-abortion women and men an opportunity to advocate and rally. With the theme of "Pro-Life Is Pro-Woman," the national march in D.C. is planned from noon to 4 p.m. Friday. Each year, the march is planned near the Jan. 22 anniversary of the 1973 Supreme Court ruling on Roe vs. Wade.

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump said on Twitter that he would attend the national march, making him the first president in U.S. history to attend. Trump plans to address those attending the rally.

Other speakers include Jim Daly, president of Focus on the Family; Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of Susan B. Anthony List; Elisa Martinez, founder of the New Mexico Alliance for Life; David Platt, pastor at McLean Bible Church; Louisiana first lady Donna Hutto Edwards; and U.S. Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA).

The National March for Life Rally kicks off at 12th Street on the National Mall. Immediately following the rally, attendees will march up Constitution Avenue. After the march, Silent No More testimonies will be given outside the U.S. Supreme Court.

In Virginia, a rally and march is scheduled at the State Capitol in Richmond at 11:45 a.m Thursday, Feb. 13. A list of speakers has not been released yet for the Virginia march.
