MD Man Convicted Of Sexually Abusing 8-Year-Old Girl In DC Sentenced

A Largo, Maryland, man who pleaded guilty in December to sexually abusing an 8-year-old girl was sentenced in federal court on Tuesday.

WASHINGTON, DC — Christopher Ham, 48, of Largo, Maryland, was sentenced in federal court on Tuesday to 14 years in prison for traveling across state lines to engage in sexual conduct with a minor.

Ham pleaded guilty last December to first-degree child sexual abuse of a minor, with aggravating circumstances, according to court records.

Police identified Ham as a suspect during the investigation of the sexual assault of an 8-year-old girl, according to authorities. Ham was in a relationship with a woman who lived in D.C., and who had access to the girl. That relationship allowed Ham to sexually abuse the child, authorities say.
