Metro Holiday Hours 2016: Here's When You Can Ride on Christmas and New Year's

WMATA has released its holiday schedule, and there's actually not much change to the normal operating hours for Metro.

Metro has released its hours for the Christmas weekend and for New Year's, and you won't see much disruption to regular service for either holiday.

Metrorail will run on a regular Saturday schedule from 7 a.m. until midnight on Christmas Eve, as will Metrobus. The rail system will also run on a regular 7 a.m. until midnight Sunday schedule on Christmas Day, and Metrobus will also stick to its normal schedule, according to a WMATA statement.

The difference will come on Monday, Dec. 26, which is the official federal holiday for Christmas. Both Metrorail and Metrobus will run on Sunday schedules on that day.

Be aware that Red Line trains will single-track between Van Ness-UDC and Dupont Circle from 8 p.m. until closing on Dec. 24.
