Amazon's criteria is pretty tough for any region to fulfill, even one as large and tech-friendly as the D.C. area. Amazon requires about 100 acres of certified or pad-ready space, or sites that could accommodate 8 million square feet of office space by 2027.
Metro has a number of joint development sites that could be included with others to help the D.C. area meet the 100-acre requirement.
