Metro Schedule For Feb. 9 - 10: Buses Replace Trains, More

If you're taking the Metro this weekend, you should plan accordingly. Buses replace trains on certain lines.

WASHINGTON, DC — There are plenty of things to do and see in the D.C. area this weekend — including Cupid's Bar Crawl DC, Zombie Apupcalypse Party, and DC Chinese New Year Parade.

If you're thinking of taking the Metro on Saturday, Feb. 9 or Sunday, Feb. 10, you should plan accordingly. Service changes might cause some delays. Here's everything you need to know before heading out for the weekend:

Red Line trains will operate every 8 minutes between Shady Grove and Dupont Circle, and every 10 minutes between Judiciary Square and Glenmont. Buses will replace trains between Dupont Circle and Union Station. Farragut North, Metro Center (upper level), and Gallery Place (upper level) stations will be closed.

WMATA has provided the following travel tips:

  • The shuttle stop for Gallery Place & Dupont Circle stations will be relocated Sunday from system open to approximately 6PM for an event.
  • Due to shuttle bus locations, all customers traveling to stations other than Judiciary Square should ride shuttle buses to/from Union Station.
  • Only customers traveling to Judiciary Square station should remain on the train beyond Union Station.
  • Tap your SmarTrip card each time you enter and exit the Metrorail system. Riders traveling through the work zone will be charged for a single, continuous trip.

Orange Line trains will run every 20 to 24 minutes.

Silver Line trains will operate every 20 minutes between Wiehle-Reston East and New Carrollton. Riders traveling to and from Benning Road, Capitol Heights, Addison Road, Morgan Boulevard, and Largo Town Center should take the Blue Line to get to their destination.

Blue Line trains will run every 20 minutes. Due to track work, trains will single-track betweenStadium-Armory and Addison Road.

Yellow Line trains will operate on a regular weekend schedule between Huntington and Georgia Ave-Petworth from 10 p.m. to close. Riders traveling to and from Fort Totten should take the Green Line to get to their destination.

Green Line trains will run on a regular weekend schedule. However, trains will single-track between Fort Totten and Prince George's Plaza from 10 p.m. to close.
