Metro Schedule For March 2-3: Buses Replace Trains, More
If you're taking the Metro this weekend, you should plan accordingly. Buses replace trains on certain lines and more.

WASHINGTON, DC — There are plenty of things to do and see in the D.C. area this weekend — including the Alexandria St. Patrick's Day Parade and Fun Dog Show, DC 90s Bar Crawl, and DC United vs. Atlanta United FC.
If you're thinking of taking the Metro on Saturday, March 2 or Sunday, March 3, you should plan accordingly. Service changes might cause some delays. Here's everything you need to know before heading out for the weekend:
From 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Red Line trains will run every 8 minutes between Farragut North and Silver Spring. Trains will also operate every 16 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont. Lastly, trains will single-track between Van Ness-UDC and Dupont Circle.

Orange Line trains will run every 20 minutes, but will single-track between Smithsonian and Federal Center SW.
Silver Line trains will operate between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston-MU every 20 minutes.

Blue Line trains will run every 20 minutes between Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Largo Town Center. Trains will single-track between Smithsonian and Federal Center SW. In addition, shuttle buses will replace trains between Franconia-Springfield and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Riders should allow 15 minutes of travel time for each stop.
The following stations on the Blue Line will be closed:
- Franconia-Springfield
- Van Dorn Street
- King Street
- Braddock Road
Yellow Line trains will run every 20 minutes between Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Mt. Vernon Square. Riders traveling to and from stations north of Mt. Vernon Square should use the Green Line to get to their destination. Buses will replace trains between Huntington and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Riders should allow 15 minutes of travel time for each stop.
The following stations on the Yellow Line will be closed:
- Huntington
- Eisenhower Avenue
- King Street
- Braddock Road
Green Line trains will run every 16 minutes, but will single-track between Navy Yard-Ballpark and Anacostia.
