'Potentially Fatal' Batch Of K2 Hits DC Streets: Mayor

WASHINGTON, DC -- A "potentially fatal" batch of the drug known as K2 has been reported in D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser warned in a tweet late Friday afternoon.

Bowser tweeted the warning at 4:41 p.m. and included a graphic that describes K2, also known as "spice." It is a synthetic drug that is often packaged as potpourri or incense.

If anyone is using the drug, drinking warm water will make an overdose less likely.

EMERGENCY ALERT:

A potentially fatal batch of K2 has hit the streets of DC. Smoking or ingesting K2 or "Spice" may lead to overdose or death. Avoid at all costs.
