Puppy Rescued From Hot Car In DC

The 7-month-old Yorkie had to be rescued from a parked vehicle.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Never, ever, ever leave your dog alone in a hot car -- particularly not when temperatures are soaring into the 90s. This 7-month-old Yorkie almost became the latest victim, but was rescued by officers in D.C., police say.

The D.C. Police Department tweeted a picture of the dog, which they say was freed from a parked vehicle somewhere in the city.

"As a reminder, never leave your pet in the car unattended," police said in the tweet. "It only takes minutes for temps to reach dangerous levels."
